Officials forward both sides said Thursday that no violations of the ceasefire had been reported since it started midnight Tuesday.

Police in Indian Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar, however, reported nine deaths in clashes between rebels and security forces.

the two New Delhi and pro-Pakistani rebels have said there will be no armistice in Indian Kashmir, where an anti-India insurgency has raged since 1989 at a costliness of tens of thousands of lives.
