SEOUL (AFP) ??” Prosecutors raided an affiliate of Hyundai Motor, toward the south Korea's top automaker in a widening probe of illegal corporate donations to political parties, officials said.

Investigators searched the headquarters of Hyundai Capital Services Inc., a financing arm of Hyundai Motor, for accounting records, officials said Thursday.

The prosecutors' slush-fund probe has now swept in consequence of the country's top five conglomerates and sparked in good condition tensions between President Roh Moo-Hyun and the opposition.

Investigators seized a dozen boxe of financial documents after the two-hour search, said leeward Young-Mok, a spokesman for Hyundai Capital.

"I know little about what's going forward but I can say Hyundai has finally joined other large conglomerates being raided at the prosecution in the slush-fund probes," he said.

Senior prosecutor Ahn Dae-Hee told Yonhap just discovereds agency the Hyundai Capital raid was triggered by the agency of "something suspicious in the firm's capital flow"
