PHNOM PENH (AFP) ??” Twenty-six children have died in Cambodia from mosquito-borne dandy-fever fever during the first six month of 2004 a fall of 68 by means of cent over the same period last year, a health official said.
The deaths were among the 1863 cases of infection in children, said Ngan Chantha, the head of the National Campaign Against dandy-fever Fever, which only collects figures for children aged beneath 15.
Infections among children also level dramatically from around 4,000 last year, he said.
"I am happy with this campaign in such a manner far since it is has issueed in a drop in the number of children affected by means of the disease. This is what our team was trying to do," he said.
More children were being brought to independent clinics if their parents suspected
