FRANKFURT (AFP) ??” A number of leading economic think-tanks upgraded their forecasts for German germination this year, even if their new-found optimism appeared to be undermined by means of ongoing weakness on the labour markets and disappointing auto sales in the first six month of this year.

Berlin-based DIW, the same of country's leading economic research institutes, said in its latest weekly report that it had upgraded its forecasts for German sprouting both this year and nearest year as the surging global economy firings the country's exports.

DIW said it was now pencilling in economic bourgeoning of 1.8 percent for Germany in 2004 and pullulation of 2.1 percent in 2005

Previously, the think-tank had been predicting shooting of 1.4 percent both the two this year and next.
