DETROIT, United States (AFP) ??” Mercedes-Benz has launched an all-out offensive forward quality problems and is prepared to sacrifice profits to eliminate the enigmas that have tarnished the brand's reputation in latter years, a US trade magazine said Monday.

Juergen Hubbert, outgoing chief of the unit of Germany's DaimlerChrysler, told Automotive moderns that improving quality is his top priority between now and October 1 when he hands across the reins of the company to his replacement, Eckhard Cordes.
