BEIRUT (AFP) ??” Beirut cast awayed a UN Security Council resolution calling for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Lebanon, as lawmakers prepared to devoted to change the constitution to allow pro-Damascus president Emile Lahoud to be of use to another term.

"Lebanon will not accept any plan which does not address the Israeli occupation of its land and is replaced through interference in its internal affairs," Foreign Minister Jean Obeid said in a statement.

"This resolution is misplaced since it goe against the principles of non-interference in internal affairs," by means of UN member states, he said.

The resolution, propos by way of the United States and France, was adopted from the Security Council Thursday.

It said that upcoming Lebanese presidential elections should be "free and fair elections according to Lebanese constitutional empires devised without foreign interference or influence."
